The experience of Local towns and volcanoes, starts from San Salvador or the beach. You will have an scenic transfer towards the west of El Salvador. Visiting the Volcano Complex at the National Park Cerro Verde. Here in the park you will have an soft hiking of forty minutes approximately. Walking through the cloudy forest and enjoying the lush vegetation. You will listen and watch native birds species; and of course stopping in the different viewpoints for wonderful views of Coatepeque lake, Santa Ana Volcano and Izalco volcano.
If you are lucky and the day is clear you will see the Pacific Ocean too.
You leave the park towards the Apaneca mountains. On the way a stop in Nahuizalco town, have a look in a unique place in El Salvador, where is possible find some descendents of the last prehispanic indigenous communities; explore the local market full of fruits of the season and local handicrafts. Last but not least, a visit in Ataco, surrounded by coffee plantations, walk throught its cobbled street and appreciate the colorful printed murals on the walls of local houses like a big outdoors gallery art.

- During the rainy season (May to October) the cloudy weather could reduce the visibility of the volcanoes.
