Discover this civilization while visiting the archaeological sites of Joya de Cerén, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1993, also called the Pompeii of America, for its valuable contribution to the knowledge of present civilization, in the site admire a pre-Columbian Maya farming village preserved remarkably intact under layers of volcanic ash this because the village was buried by volcano eruption around A.D. 600.
Later transfer towards the Ruins of San Andrés, a very important political and religious centre, the acropolis has diverse structures for the use of the governors during that period, the most emblematic is the estructure 5 , best known as “La Campana”, due his particular shape, the site was buried due to the eruption of the Playón volcano in 1658 AD, preserving the Colonial indigo production almost intact.
